Summation. Beautiful and kind.
I’ve been so befuddled by people who feel that Thiroughbreds are anything but kind
If you put a horse, or a dog, or a person, in a high stress situation. If we have no options, we all exhibit behavior that’s not really who we are.
At their core Thoroughbreds are pleasers. They are full of try. They have huge hearts. They are beautiful and athletic and they want to do their job.
If that doesn’t sound like your horse, something is really wrong.
It’s easy to normalize bad behavior. It’s all around us. But it’s not helpful
If you have a problem try your best to solve it. To help them. When you took on that horse, you were so excited. You could not wait to get them. Keep that sentiment. Learn all you can. Take classes from a competent trainer. One that understands all the facets. Not just riding.
They really will go to the moon and back for you.
Picture of Summation standing in the shade. It’s still crazy hot down here. Especially in the sun!
